Nameless

What is it, the nameless? Aliens on Earth? Communication? Trying to grasp the nameless through trance and ecstasy? Is that nameless?
Our moving force? The source? Is it our relation, our shared feelings? Or maybe wordless thoughts? Is it nameless just because we’re not articulated enough?
We keep on naming the nameless. Because the nameless... stays nameless... That’s why we dance, this being the only way to know immortality.

Žigan Krajnčan is a dancer, performer and singer. His dance expression is a fusion of different dance techniques, such as popping, hip hop, ballet, release and Cunningham techniques, krump, house, contact dance, moshing/slamdancing, and other movement practices, which he continuously tries to improve and upgrade to find new expressive possibilities. Despite his young age, Žigan has collaborated with many choreographers and other makers, such as Matija Ferlin, Maja Delak, Gregor Luštek, Branko Potočan, Gramatik, Matjaž Pograjc, Miha Hočevar, Ivana Djilas, Matjaž Farič, Jurij Zrnec, Uroš Smolej, Gašper Tič, and Ivan Mijačevič. He has won numerous prizes and awards for his work: he is a three-time winner of the international dance competition OPUS and the winner of the European IDO Competition in the Electric Boogie category. Together with his dance partner Gašper Kunšek, Žigan has developed, choreographed and performed in an interdisciplinary project Hidden Myth, directed by Kristijan Krajnčan. His last project is Matija Ferlin’s performance Staging a Play: The Glass Menagerie.

On All Fours

On All Fours is a performance about a table and a few chairs. The table and the chairs define how someone relates to him or herself, towards others as well as define one's role in the group. Depending on how they are positioned in space, they create different atmospheres and situations, which in turn affect us and our actions. Together with the dancers and the musicians, they create a space of contemplation, meeting, coexistence, dialogue and conflict – in other words a space of communication.
